A checklist for your snowboarding trip

Some Grays on Trays travel with a lot of stuff. Others don't. Your needs travel depending on whether you're making a trip of one day or several days, whether you're driving or flying, whether you're traveling alone or with others, and many other factors. If you find a checklist useful in getting ready--and some people do--here's something that you can use as a building block. Adjust as desired.

The obvious

  • Snowboard(s) with bindings
  • Boots

    Tools

    • Screwdrivers / other tools for adjusting bindings

    • Balaclava or ski mask
    • Sunscreen
    • Ear muffs, headband, or hat (including beanie)
    • Goggles (optional: replacement lenses) or sunglasses

    Arms and Hands

    • Gloves or mittens for use while riding
    • Extra set of gloves or mittens for driving (if your riding gloves get wet)
    • Wrist guards or gloves with built-in guards

    For your car

A lot of riders get to the mountain by car. Here are some things that might be useful for the trip.

    • Snow shovel
    • Blanket
    Other
    • MP3 player, CDs, tapes
    • Tire chains
    • Map or gazetteer
